Welcome to Henry P. Clough Principal's Blog

I am so glad you decided to check out my Principal's Blog. I have had the privilege of working for the Mendon-Upton Regional School District for the past 16 years. I taught at Memorial School for 1 year and Clough School for 11 years, and spent four years as the Curriculum Director. My husband Brian and I live in Upton and have two girls, Erin and Meghan, who both went through the Mendon-Upton School District. I know firsthand what a strong district this is. I am excited to be the principal of Clough Elementary School.

I believe communication is vital. It is my goal to keep the lines of communication open with students, staff, parents, and the community. I will use this blog as a vehicle to keep everyone up to date on what’s going on at Henry P. Clough Elementary School.

I look forward to a productive year where we all work together to ensure our students receive the best education possible in a caring and safe environment.

Best Regards,
Janice Gallagher

Harlem Wizards Game

Harlem Wizards Game yesterday was a huge success! We had over a thousand people in attendance. What an unbelievable turnout!  There are so many people to thank for this memorable event. First off let me express my deepest gratitude to the Clough and Memorial PTO for working together to bring this spectacular event to our Mendon and Upton Communities. I would like to thank the local businesses who sponsored the game: Friendly's Ice Cream - Corporate Office, Imperial Cars, Murphy Insurance, Phipps Insurance, Uber CafĂ©, and Varney Bros. Sand and Concrete.

I would like to sincerely thank our students and families who came out to this fun event, not only on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, but while the Patriots were playing too. Now that’s what I called commitment to the school community!

Finally, I would like to thank the incredible staff at Clough and Memorial for their participation in the basketball event.  To all the staff who participated in the event whether you played, coached, volunteered, or came to watch – thank you! The strong showing of the staff  truly showed that your commitment to the children is more than just teaching them academics. Thanks to you giving up a Sunday afternoon, you helped make yesterdays event fun for everyone who attended.

What a wonderful afternoon for our communities.  “One team, One goal, No limits!”
